About Yashaswini Sahay

Welcome to my professional space, where advocacy meets action. My name is Yashaswini Sahay, an advocate, social worker, and the youngest candidate contesting the Ranchi seat in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections from the Congress party.

Born to a family steeped in social activism, with my father, a former Union Minister, and my mother, a renowned theatre personality, I have been instilled with a profound sense of duty to empower and uplift the marginalized. My educational path includes a Bachelor of Legal Science and a Bachelor of Law from Mumbai, topped by a Master's degree in Transnational Crimes and Justice from the United Nations Crime and Justice Research Institute in Turin, Italy.

Throughout my career, I have specialized in family law, championing cases involving domestic abuse and violence, and advocating passionately for child rights. My roles have ranged from practice in family and sessions courts to impactful engagements with organizations like the Kailash Satyarthi Children's Foundation and mentoring under advocate Mrunalini Deshmukh.

My international exposure includes participating in the Harvard Summer School on Race, Gender, and Youth Activism and working with the African Girls Empowerment Network, enriching my understanding and commitment to global social justice issues.

As I step into the political arena, my vision for Ranchi is clear. I am dedicated to fostering a community that thrives on equality, justice, and opportunity for all its members, especially the disenfranchised and the youth. My focus will be on creating robust educational and health infrastructures, ensuring women and children's safety, and promoting sustainable development to transform Ranchi into a model city.

I am eager to bring fresh energy and perspectives to the table, advocating for policies that will directly benefit the citizens of Ranchi. Join me in this journey to reshape our future, ensuring every voice is heard and every challenge is met with resolute action.

Thank you for your support, and together, let's strive for a brighter, more inclusive tomorrow.
